Dean of School of Education

As the Dean of School of Education, Mrs. Debbie Kohuth supports the team of Clark Advanced Learning Center, as part of the Chastain campus of Indian River State College in partnership with the Martin County School District. 
 
Originally from the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Kohuth attended Villanova University and East Stroudsburg University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with secondary education certificate.  Mrs. Kohuth taught science at North Pocono and Wallenpaupack Area School Districts at both Middle School and High School levels as well as secondary mathematics and communications for 15 years.  Debbie earned her Master’s degrees in Mathematics and in Educational Leadership from the University of Scranton in 1989 and in 2010, respectively.
 

Mrs. Kohuth has supported teachers and administrators as a member of the Professional Development department of St. Lucie Public Schools and as part of the Curriculum Department as the K-12 Math Supervisor and then as the Coordinator of Curriculum and School Improvement, followed by school-based administration at two comprehensive high schools, Fort Pierce Westwood and Port St. Lucie High Schools. Mrs. Kohuth is the former Principal of Clark Advanced Learning Center. Partnering with stakeholders throughout the Treasure Coast to advance quality instruction and student achievement is at the forefront of her service and servant leadership.
