High school is an exciting time for students. Students begin evaluating their strengths, abilities, and skills as they face expanding opportunities that will shape their future. They need guidance to help them make wise academic decisions, complete scholarship and financial aid applications, and apply for colleges and competitive jobs.
Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They are professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. They help students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development, and career exploration, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
Our Clark guidance counselor provides students with in-person, individual academic advising. Parents/guardians may attend the advising sessions or make separate conference appointments to discuss their child's progress.

Most Clark students participate in dual enrollment, simultaneously earning a high school diploma along with college credits toward an Associate Degree (AA) or occupational credit toward a technical certificate.  Upon graduating from high school, some students are able to complete all requirements for a two-year college AA degree to transfer as a college junior.

Clark is the first point of contact for parents who wish to discuss dual enrollment academic progress, schedule a conference, or request more information about school or classroom activities. Clark students taking Indian River State College (IRSC) dual enrollment college classes must complete college placement testing. Students are responsible for reading and following the instructor provided college syllabi and student requested schedule changes must be approved and signed by parents/guardians. Remember, dual enrollment is a privilege, not a right. College coursework is encouraged; however, priority will be placed upon meeting high-school graduation requirements.  For more information about dual enrollment, please open the following attachment: High School vs. College Classes
