Admissions 2024- 2025

Admission Requirements:

Students must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible for admission to Clark Advanced Learning Center.

  1. Applicants must be Martin County residents at time of application. Supporting documentation of parent/guardian residency within Martin County, FL will be required.
  2. Be classified as a high school sophomore, junior, or senior.*
  3. Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0 (entering seniors must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5).
  4. Earned one credit in Algebra 1 with a grade of C or higher in each semester and passing score on End Of Course (EOC) exam or concordant score.
  5. Attained at least minimum passing scores, as established by the State of Florida, on the 9th and/or 10th grade English/Language Arts (ELA) state assessment or concordant score.
  6. Complete the application and provide a 300 word (minimum) essay on “Why I Want to Attend Clark Advanced Learning Center”.
  7. For students who attend a non-MCSD (Martin County School District) school, parents must request the records (transcripts and/or report cards) be sent to Clark. The application will only be considered once all records are received and reviewed.

All Students Must Meet Criteria for Admission

 

Homeschool and Private School students: Contact Clark Assessment Coordinator at 772-419-5758 to get information in order to register for the required State ELA Assessments, Algebra 1 and/or Geometry End of Course Exam (EOC).

All students must attain at least a Level 3 (passing/satisfactory) score, as established by the State of Florida, on the 9th and/or 10th grade English/Language Arts (ELA) state assessments and Algebra 1 EOC or concordant score. Private and home school students may substitute grade level test scores from certain national assessments for consideration by the admissions committee.

 

 

*Minimum high-school credits required for grade level:

10th grade:  5 credits (1 credit English, 1 credit Algebra 1, 1 credit elective, and at least 2 credits in academic areas such as math, science, social studies, and/or foreign languages)

11th grade: 11 credits

12th grade: 18 credits

 

Conditional decision letters will be mailed beginning in April to the address provided on your application. The application window for the 2024-2025 school year admissions is November 1, 2023 through February 28, 2024. 

Florida Statute 1002.33(10)(b)ELIGIBLE STUDENTS: The charter school shall enroll an eligible student who submits a timely application, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or building. In such case, all applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random selection process.

All students who do not receive a spot through the random selection/lottery process will be assigned a number in order for the waitlist.  If space becomes available, students will be notified accordingly.

Accreditation

Clark has been awarded accreditation through the 2030 school year by the Cognia Global Commission. Clark received perfect 4.0 scores in all analysis criteria, while the averages for these criteria across Cognia’s network are between 3.0-3.1.

The school also complied with all assurance statements regarding following laws and regulations; adhering to ethical marketing and communication practices; adhering to written policies governing conduct, decision making, ethics and authority; submitting financial transactions for annual audit; reviewing management plans for security, safety and health; and participating in all required training.
