Students are asked to write an original and creative essay of less than 1,000 words that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage.
Students should use a variety of sources such as newspaper articles, books, and/or personal interviews to address the following topic:
Describe and analyze the decisions, actions, and risks of an elected public official in the United States since 1956 who has courageously addressed a political issue at the local, state, national, or international level.

PSAT
All 10th graders will take the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at CALC.
11th graders should take the PSAT as it is a very low cost practice for the actual SAT. Details available for signing up when you return to school.
COMMUNITY SERVICE INFORMATION

Remember to have an agency official sign your community service hours log (available in Guidance or from Mrs. Guyton) and turn it in when you return to school in the fall!
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Class of 2010… now is the time to begin gathering your lists of accomplishments throughout high school, finalizing education and career goals and drafting a 1 page essay about these goals so when the first scholarships become available in September you will be ready!
Check back here and on the board outside of Guidance frequently as this is where you will find MANY scholarship opportunities.
