"CALC is a place that helps students to succeed with the support and direction of caring staff and teachers. Most importantly, though, is that the good relationships between students and teachers combined with the many opportunities to use technology create a successful and fun school."

The high school you choose can make a real difference! At the Clark Advanced Learning Center students benefit from a small school setting with personal attention.

A public charter high school on the Indian River Community College Chastain Campus in Stuart, the CALC serves about 200 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with diverse interests. CALC students participate in learning experiences relevant to their career interests and real-world projects that inspire motivation and achievement.

CALC students have the opportunity to earn college credits at no cost while still in high school. In fact, many CALC students graduate with a year of college completed, a savings of at least $3,000 at a public university and $20,000 at a private university.

The CALC will provide you with important benefits you may not find at other high schools:

  • A small school environment where your son or daughter will not get lost in the crowd
  • Opportunities to learn and use technology in every subject
  • A personal laptop computer for research and projects
  • Career-based internships based on your interests
  • Students activities including athletics, prom, yearbook and clubs

Accreditation

The Clark Advanced Learning Center received the highest ratings possible in a recent in-depth re-accreditation review conducted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the prestigious accrediting body for schools and colleges throughout the 11 Southern states. The CALC was evaluated on seven major standards including curriculum, student achievement, finances and safety and received the highest rating possible on all seven standards. Issued following a rigorous and detailed review of the school, the accreditation report commended the CALC as a “supportive learning environment that produces students who are academically and technologically prepared to continue their education at the college level and enter the competitive workforce”.
